Last weekend the David Duff Memorial road race event was staged from the Fairhall Hall. This is one of Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s blue ribbon events of the season and is always well attended. The Duff family established the race 25 years ago and their generosity continues to benefit the club and this event.

The graded format event meant riders had to adjust to longer distances than those posed by the recently-completed weeknight BikeFit Marlborough series. A slight twist to the A grade saw the field riding a block handicap race with B grade competitors having a 4min advantage.
On Tuesday the final graded road race for the BikeFit Marlborough Summer Road Series was held on the Lower Wairau circuit. Utilising the ‘big’ circuit by taking in Vickerman St/Jones Rd/Morgans Rd along with the standard Dillons Point Rd/Rowberry Rd/Swamp Rd portion, provided an interesting course in breezy easterly conditions. The A and B grades tackled four laps of the circuit (55km), C grade 3 laps (41km), D grade 2 laps (27km). s.
This week saw the final individual time trial being raced for the BikeFit Marlborough Summer Road Series. Conditions were not ideal for posting fast times but there was some stiff completion throughout the grades.
