The fifth round of the BikeFit Marlborough Summer Road Series took place on Tuesday evening with the time trial event on the New Renwick Road course at Fairhall. First up was Martin Fletcher who broke his own record in his age category by 26 seconds in recording 2 a very slick 2m02secs for the 15.2km distance and taking 5th fastest time of the night. Georgia Catterick not only finished 9th fastest in the field but broke her own record too by a whopping 44 seconds to record 22m53sec.
Another typically windy night was the feature of last Thursday evening at Athletic Park during round 7 of The Honey Company Track Cycling Series. The programme covered off a handicap event, points race, and scratch events for grades A to C and an ‘all in’ Italian pursuit to finish off the racing.
The fourth round of the BikeFit Marlborough Summer Road Series took place on Tuesday evening with graded road races at Fairhall. The course included anti-clockwise laps of the Ben Morven circuit and then a finish up on the top of Marlborough Ridge Drive.
The results were well spread around on the track last Thursday evening at Athletic Park during round 6 of The Honey Company Track Cycling Series. An exciting programme included a 500m derby event (with heats run in grades A and B), an elimination race, handicap race and scratch race for each of the grades A to C on the night.
The third round of the BikeFit Marlborough Summer Road Series took place on Tuesday evening with an individual time trial on New Renwick Road over 15.2km. The highlight of the night was Georgia Catterick smashing the previous U19 womens record by 2 minutes in recording a time of 23m37sec to also finish top of the B grade competitors.
