The third round of the BikeFit Marlborough Summer Road Series took place on Tuesday evening with an individual time trial on New Renwick Road over 15.2km. Gale force winds earlier in the day thankfully dropped to allow the event to get underway. The highlight of the night was Georgia Catterick smashing the previous U19 womens record by 2 minutes in recording a time of 23m37sec to also finish top of the B grade competitors. This capped of a great week for the Cuddon Cycling Marlborough rider who was crowned the NMIT Junior Sportswoman of the Year on Monday night.
Callum Caughey finished second of the B grade with 24m17sec and Michelle Gammie-Catterick third in 24m55sec.
A storming ride by Susan van der Pol in the C grade took the honours with a 25m12sec. Sanne Poulsen finished second in 26m50sec, and Joel Madsen-Clark third in 27m11sec.
Ray Dunstan remains the rider to beat in the A grade, winning in a time of 21m52sec to take the fastest time of the night. Josh Scott took second place in 22m16sec with Nick Batt hot on his heals with 22m20sec.
