Whatamango, Whatamongrel!!!!!

The Whatamango hill will be a real test for Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s riders as they compete in the Whatamango 3 stage Trophies event tomorrow.
The open grade 27km massed start first stage starts at the Research Centre and finishes in Kent Street, Picton. The Elevation climb sees riders trying to gain a little time advantage on their rivals before the demanding second stage. Stage two is a 10km  individual time trial from Waikawa Bay to the top of the Whamango hill overlooking Port Underwood. The final 27km stage back to Blenheim from Nelson Square, Picton gives riders a chance to gain time bonuses with sprints at Koromiko, Tuamarina and the finish. The handicap trophy will go to the rider with the most points on sealed handicap over the event.
The junior under 17 grade compete in a 54km two stage event to Picton and return for the Redwood Fisheries Cup. The trophy is awarded to the handicap winner.
All riders are to assemble at the Research Centre at 9.30am for a 10am start.
