Records continued to tumble at Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s Cycle World time trial No4 last Wednesday evening when Caroline McCarthy smashed the Womens 45+ record by 2 minutes 29 seconds. A good field took part on the 15.2km course from Wither Hills Winery on New Renwick Road to Fromm Winery on Godfreys Road and return. Ray Dunstan (20m 24s) was the fastest rider of the night creating a new Masters 50-54 record and a personal best by 4 seconds. Conway Taylor (20m 57s) was second with Josh Scott (21m 00s) riding a personal best for third place. A new record also went to Ian Shapcott (23m 40s) in the Masters 60-64 division. McCarthy’s excellent time of 25m 12s broke a long standing record of 27m 41s set by Judith Saxton in January 2001.
