New Course For Palatchie Cups

Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s riders will compete for the Palatchie Cups in Fairweathers Winter series events at Seaview, Seddon tomorrow afternoon.
The open grade handicap event will change from the old traditional Welds Pass route to two laps (40km) of the Seaview course at Seddon. The hilly course will require different tactics from the old course, with most handicap groups trying to stay intact to the latter stages if they want to hold off the backmarkers. Fastest time honours is expected to be fought out between scratch riders Tony Catterick, Dylan Vile, Gerard van Antwerpen, Nick Batt and Sean O’Neill.
The junior under 17 grade will also change from the old Taylor Pass venue to once over the Seaview course (20km). Ethan Batt, Thomas Westend and Christopher Grammer will be the main time contenders.
All riders are to assemble at Starborough Tavern at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
