Club History
Established in Blenheim in 1931 Cuddon Cycling Marlborough has a proud history with many of its riders reaching New Zealand representation through the years.
The Club has a wide range of riders from International through to casual and beginners. The club runs a road and track programme with approximately 70 events per year. Road races are mainly handicap, which caters for a range of performance levels, with a mixture of massed starts, graded and time trials. For more information on the race programme check out the Racing Page .
The Club's main aim is to foster and promote safe cycling in the Marlborough area whether racing or recreational and to encourage cycling for good health and fitness at all age levels. Our youngest registered regular Club rider is 12 and our oldest is 89!
The club has been sponsored by Cuddon for nearly thirty years, and John and Robyn Cuddon have been our patrons for over a decade. Please pay them a visit if you have any engineering, water, air conditioning or freeze dry needs.

Current international riders
Callum Saunders – member of NZ Elite Sprint Team
Initially attracted to mountain biking and road cycling, Saunders moved to the track after coming through the strong cycling fraternity in his home in Marlborough. He earned a number of national medals to join the high-performance programme with his breakthrough in 2019 when he won the keirin final at the UCI World Cup in Hong Kong.
Callum Saunders won bronze as a member of the men's sprint team at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Saunders is also an Olympian and competed in the team sprint and keirin at Tokyo 2020.
Adam Bidwell - rider for Sias Rime
Adam started mountain biking before he and brother Andrew (also a handy cyclist!) were asked to try out track cycling with Cuddon Cycling Marlborough. This soon led to road racing which they both enjoyed, especially the competition.
He accumulated a stack of great results as a junior including 4th at National Road Race, 2nd CHB tour GC, 1st KOM Tasman Tour, 1st NRS Kom, 2nd GC, KOM Tour of Manawatu, 3rd South Champs schools, 6th TOS Queen Stage all at U19 level. Adam really enjoyed the hot days in Marlborough which make for a great days ride.
Adam is now riding for Sias Rime in Italy with plans for the future to go as far as possible before signing professional. Watch this space!
