The Marlborough 80 is run on a handicap format. The slower riders start first, and the idea is that everyone will finish at the same time. Each group of riders needs to work together to catch bunches in front of them and to stay ahead of the faster groups behind them. Tactics are as important as fitness to do well in this unique challenge.
2025 sees the Marlborough 80 move to a new course at Hawkesbury. We will be competing over 4 laps of a circuit with the start/finish on Brookby Road with riders going over Barracks Hill then returning for a left turn into Falveys and continuing around the Hawkesbury circuit and turning right off of Dog Point Road back into Brookby.
Junior U17 Riders will compete over 40kms which is two laps of the same course.
The Start/Finish line will be by the Brookby Road/Windhawk Rise intersection. Park off the road on the western side of Brookby Road. Registration at 1:00pm
The prizegiving will be held at the Woodbourne Tavern, 80 High Street, Renwick. It is about five minutes drive from the start/finish to the prizegiving. There will be finger food provided and you can purchase your own drinks.
